Nutritional benefits
Nutritional benefits, which include nutritional assessment and a healthy eating plan are available to:
- CompCare Medical Scheme,
- Consumer Goods Medical Scheme and
- Old Mutual Staff Medical Aid Fund
through the Universal Network of dietitians.
The kids nutritional benefit is available to:
- CompCare Medical Scheme and
- Consumer Goods Medical Scheme
Virtual consultations are available for the nutritional assessment and healthy eating plan, pregnancy as well as the kid’s nutritional benefit through the Universal Network.
Compulsory follow-up consultation (either face-to-face or virtual consultation, depending on the option selected)
- The dietitian will conduct a compulsory 30 minutes follow-up session with the parent and child on the prescribed eating plan and nutrition advice will be provided during this session. This session must be conducted within two weeks of the initial assessment.
- Monthly optional follow-up consultation (either face-to-face or virtual consultation, depending on the option selected)
- Five optional follow-up measurement and nutritional educational sessions are available but not compulsory to use over a 12-month period.
As part of the session the beneficiary will complete a follow-up questionnaire to check compliance with the healthy eating plan and to detect any problem areas that may be experienced. This is followed by a measuring and nutritional education.
